【摘要】:IRMsarevitallyimportantinproductandspecificationtesting,inresearchanddevelopmentwork,intechnicalservicework,andinqualitycontroloperationsintherubberandcarbonblackindustries.Theyareespeciallyvaluableforrefereepurposes.ManyASTMrubberstandardsfortheevaluationofnaturalorsyntheticrubberrequiretheuseofspecificIRMsintheirtestrecipesforbetterlaboratoryrepeatabilityandreproducibility.NewmateriallotsthathavebeenselectedascandidatesforIRMapprovalshallconformtotheappropriatespecificationsgiveninthisstandardandmeetrequirementsgiveninPracticeD4678beforethelotsmaybeacceptedasIRMs.ThechemicalandphysicalIRMspecificationsshownwillensuresomeconsistencyinIRMpropertiesfromonelottothenext.However,thespecificationscannotensureexactinter-lotconsistency.1.1Thisspecificationcoversthechemicalandphysicalqualityspecificationsorrequirements,orboth,forIndustryReferenceMaterials(IRMs)ascitedinPracticeD4678andotherstandards.1.2IRMs,asevaluatedandreferencedinPracticeD4678,arevitallyimportanttoconductproduct,specification,anddevelopmenttestingintherubberandcarbonblackindustries.1.3BeforeanewlotofmaterialcanbeacceptedasanIRM,itmustcomplywiththespecificationsprescribedinthisspecification.However,thesespecificationsareonlypartoftherequirements.OtherrequirementsasgiveninPracticeD4678shallbemetbeforeacandidatematerialcanbeformallyacceptedasanIRM.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofpavementsurfacedeflectionsasaresultoftheapplicationofanimpulseloadtothepavementsurface.Theresultingdeflectionsaremeasuredatthecenteroftheappliedloadandatvariousdistancesawayfromtheload.Deflectionsmaybeeithercorrelateddirectlytopavementperformanceorusedtodeterminethein-situmaterialcharacteristicsofthepavementlayers.Someusesofdataincludestructuralevaluationofloadcarryingcapacityanddeterminationofoverlaythicknessrequirementsforhighwayandairfieldpavements.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofdeflectionsofpavedandunpavedsurfaceswithafalling-weight-typeimpulseloaddevice.Thesedevicesarecommonlyreferredtoasfalling-weightdeflectometersorFWDs.1.2Thistestmethoddescribesthemeasurementofverticaldeflectionresponseofthesurfacetoanimpulseloadappliedtothepavementsurface.Verticaldeflectionsaremeasuredontheloadaxisandatpointsspacedradiallyoutwardfromtheloadaxis.Note18212;SubcommitteeD04.39iscurrentlyworkingonthedevelopmentofaPrecisionandBiasstatement.Therefore,thecommitteerecommendsthattheresultsfromthistestmethodshouldnotbeusedinabuyingorsellingrelationshipforconstructionmaterialsorconstructionmaterialsacceptance.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.AspecifichazardstatementisgiveninSection6.
