【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversabenchtestproceduretoevaluatethetendencyofautomotivespark-ignitionenginefueltofoulelectronicportfuelinjectors(PFI).ThetestmethodutilizesabenchapparatusequippedwithBoschinjectorsspecifiedforuseina1985-1987Chrysler2.2-Lturbochargedengine.ThistestmethodisbasedonatestproceduredevelopedbytheCoordinatingResearchCouncil(CRC)forpredictionofthetendencyofspark-ignitionenginefueltoformdepositsinthesmallmeteringclearancesofinjectorsinaportfuelinjectionengine(seeCRCReportNo.592).Thetestmethodisapplicabletospark-ignitionenginefuels,whichmaycontainantioxidants,corrosioninhibitors,metaldeactivators,dyes,depositcontroladditives,demulsifiers,oroxygenates,oracombinationthereof.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Approximateinch-poundunitsareshowninparenthesesforinformationpurposesonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificprecautionarystatementsaregiventhroughoutthistestmethod.Note1-IfthereisanydoubtastothelatesteditionofTestMethodD6421,contactASTMInternationalHeadquarters.Otherpropertiesofsignificancetospark-ignitionenginefuelaredescribedinSpecificationD4814.
