【摘要】:Thepurposeofthistestmethodistoprovideameasurablecriterionofperformanceaboutthelevelofcutresistanceprovidedbydifferenttypesofprotectivegarmentsandprotectedcoveringswornbychainsawoperators.Thistestmethodisintendedtoshowtowhatlevelaprotectivegarmentcanofferresistancetothecuttingactionofachainsaw.Theprotectionwhichcanbedemonstratedbythegarmentsandcoveringstestedinaccordancewiththistestmethodisachievedby:(1)thecutresistanceofthematerialtocuttingwhenputincontactwithsawchain;(2)pullingapartofthematerialoryarnsinthematerialsothattheyaredrawnintothechainanddrivemechanismtoblockthechainmovement;(3)thefibersofthematerialsusedtodemonstratebothhighresistancetocuttingandthecapacitytoabsorbrotationalenergy,sothatchainspeedcanbesloweddownsufficientlytostopthemovementofthesawchain;or(4)anycombinationofthese.Thistestmethoddoesnotpurporttoevaluatecomfortoflowerbodyprotectivegarments.Incaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresultswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldperformcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimensfromthesamelotofcomponentstobeevaluated.Thetestspecimensshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbedeterminedandcorrectedorthepurchaserandthesuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinlightoftheknownbias.1.1Thistestmethodmeasurescutresistanceofgarmentsanddevicesworntoprotectthelower(legs)bodywhenoperatingachainsaw.1.2Thistestmethodmaybeusedtotestforcompliancetominimumperformancerequirementsinestablishedsafetystandards.1.2.1Byagreementbetweenthepurchaserandthesupplier,orasrequiredbyestablishedsafetystandards,itwillbedecidedifthistestmethodwillbeusedtodetermineoneorbothofthefollowing:(1)chainspeed50(CS50),and(2)success/failure(jamming/chainstop)atspecifiedchainspeed.1.3Thistestmethodmaybeusedtodeterminelevelsofprotectionforareasofcoverageasstipulatedinestablishedsafetystandards.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsorininch-poundshallberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
