【摘要】:Precisionlimitsforatestresultthatiscalculatedbyaddition,subtraction,multiplication,ordivisionoftwoothertestresultsthathavevalidprecisionlimitscanbecalculateddirectly.Thissavesthecostanddelayofconductinganinterlaboratorystudy.Attheheartofstatisticaltheoryistheconceptofafrequencydistributionofarandomvariable.Theprecisionlimitoftherandomvariableisdeterminedbythestandarddeviationofthevariable.Thestandarddeviationofarandomvariablethatisthesum,difference,product,orquotientoftwootherrandomvariablescanbecalculatedsimplysolongastheindividualvariablesareindependentandthestandarddeviationsaresmallrelativetotheirmeanvalues.TheserestrictionsareusuallymetinASTMmethods.Inthosecaseswheretheserestrictionsarenotmet,othermethodscanbeused.Onlycasescomplyingwiththerestrictionsarecoveredinthisstandard.1.1Thispracticecoverstechniquesforcalculatingprecisionlimitswhenvaluesarecalculatedfromtwoothermethodshavingprecisionlimits.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
