【摘要】:Thedegreeandrateofanaerobicbiodegradabilityofaplasticmaterialinthistestmethodmaybepredictiveofthetimeperiodrequiredtoeliminatethatplasticfromtheenvironmentdependingonthesimilaritiesoftheenvironments.Withincreasinguseofplastics,disposalisamajorissue.Thistestmethodmaybeusefultoestimatethedegreeandpersistenceofplasticsinbiologicallyactiveanaerobicdisposalsites.Thistestmethoddeterminestherateanddegreeofanaerobicbiodegradationbymeasuringtheevolvedvolumeofcarbondioxideandmethane,asafunctionoftimeofexposuretoanaerobic-digestersludge.Anaerobicsewer-digestersludgefromtreatmentofclarifiersludgeatawaste-watertreatmentplantthattreatsprincipallymunicipalwasteisanacceptableactiveanaerobicenvironment(availableoverawidegeographicalarea)inwhichtotestabroadrangeofplasticmaterials.Thistestmethodmaybeconsideredanacceleratedtestwithrespecttoatypicalanaerobicenvironment,suchaslandfillsitesthatplasticsencounterinusualdisposalmethodsbecauseofthehighlyactivemicrobialpopulationofanaerobic-digestersludge.1.1Thistestmethoddeterminesthedegreeandrateofanaerobicbiodegradationofsyntheticplasticmaterials(includingformulationadditives)onexposuretoanaerobic-digestermunicipalsewagesludgefromawaste-waterplant,underlaboratoryconditions.1.2Thistestmethodisdesignedtoindexplasticmaterialsthataremoreorlessbiodegradablerelativetoapositivestandardinananaerobicenvironment.1.3Thistestmethodisapplicabletoallplasticmaterialsthatarenotinhibitorytothemicroorganismspresentinanaerobicsewagesludge.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsaregiveninSection8.
